RSHL Season 40 Playoffs Permutations Update

We’ve had a couple more games, and I’ve found out more details about the tiebreaker rules. Here’s an update on each team’s odds…

Misfits

Record: 9-1
Remaining opponents: SKS, HHH

Sealed the top seed and President’s Trophy.

lizird strikirs

Record: 6-4
Remaining opponents: BA, CR

With last night’s victory, they are now the most likely #2 seed.
Their lack of games reffed is unlikely to end up mattering.
84% chance of being in 2v3 semi final, 16% chance of being in the play-in game.

Shrek’s Swampers

Record: 5-4
Remaining opponents: MSF, CR, BA

52% chance of being in the 2v3 semi final, 48% chance of being in the play-in game.

Creasers

Record: 5-5
Remaining opponents: SKS, LZS

43% chance of being in the 2v3 semi final, 57% chance of being in the play-in game.

Breakaway

Record: 4-5
Remaining opponents: LZS, BDP, SKS

Currently occupying the last playoff spot, and is now the only team at risk to a late charge from BDP or HHH.
21% chance of being in the 2v3 semi final, 70% chance of being in the play-in game, 9% chance of slipping out of the playoffs positions.

Record: 3-7
Remaining opponents: BA, HHH

Only 9% chance of making the play-in game, 91% chance of missing out.
Loses tie-breakers to Breakaway due to a late postponement counting as a “no-show”.
Needs to win out and Breakaway lose out..

Hamburger Hill 3

Record: 2-8
Remaining opponents: MSF, BDP

Barring something very strange, they are out of the running: even if they end on a 3-way tie for 5th place on 4-8, they would lose tiebreakers unless Breakaway no-shows a game or there’s a huge 35 goal swing in league goal differential in 5 games.
