MSHL Season 10 has officially started! An explosive match opened up the season between two teams that might actually be contenders for the Live-Wire cup: RIP TW and the returning PieRats! This match took place at 3pm EST on 8/24/25 and was refereed by Big E.
Just forty or so minutes before the game started, Hulk (captain of RIP TW) was scrambling to get his teammates online and unfortunately he himself would not make it to this game. However, thanks to the efforts of Big Eater, the beacons of Minas Tirith were lit and Gondor called for aid, a.k.a the hunt for more trench wars players to be signed for MSHL began, only moments before the game.
Thankfully, it was not needed as the RIP TW team actually showed 5 right off the start of the match. With only one player needing to fill the empty spot left by Hulk, tight_pikachu_p_ssy was hastily added to the RIP TW’s roster so that the spectators could enjoy a full 6v6 squad battle. He was put in as goalie. With all of that ordeal out of the way, the match finally began.
PieRats struck first with a goal from SuperSaiyan at 4:21 on the clock. It happened when tight_pikachu_p_ssy (calling him pikachu from now on, for obvious reasons) saved a drifting puck and then shot it up to the boards in an attempt (we think) at an outlet pass to one of his teammates. However, SuperSaiyan was already gunning in the direction of his pass when the puck hit the boards, stealing it before pikachu could head back in time to guard his net again.
SuperSaiyan instantly shot the puck against the boards, sending it arcing down to RIP TW’s open net, with pikachu still trying to go back but too slow to save the shot.
1 – 0 PieRats. End of first period.
Second period began with RIP TW immediately on the offense. Pikachu changed ships and was no longer the goalie for their team. Instead, Stayon entered and he did a good job of holding it down between the pipes this period.
At 11:30 on the clock, yeH scored for RIP TW to tie it up with a decent angled shot north of Cig Smoke. The score was now 1 – 1.
At 8:23, during a counterattack by the RIP TW team, Zeeeeeeee intercepted a pass from yeH and flew past several ships who were still trying to slow down their momentum from the sudden change in flow of play. Zeeeeeeee found himself alone against Stayon and slid it into the south post of the net, under the goalie’s grasp. 2 – 1 PieRats.
At 1:18, pikachu initiated a counterattack on a breakaway and between him, Tripin, and RAINBOW SEEKER, the trio were able to pass the puck around with no resistance as Scratcher (in a spider) tried to block the passing lanes (unsuccessfully). A pass made its way top, then south, then back up top as a descending pikachu crisscrossed near the crease, received the puck, and shot it straight center of the goal, while Cig Smoke had already gone way south. 2 – 2. Tied game!
Third period began with phased shots and missed passes galore. Lots of lag from the server (and some of the euro players). Oli kept trying to start up heat with the enemy team with jokes about their moms as well as insulting the staff in between periods. Kangal (the newbie goalkeeper for RIP TW) finally made an appearance just before the period started, joining just in time to replace Stayon as goalie.
At 9:37, Pikachu sent an errant pass to Comodo but it was intercepted by DinK! — however, Comodo was right on him as he lunged forward in an attempt to check him off the puck. DiNk! in a state of panic tried to ballkill Comodo quickly but missed his shot, allowing Comodo to skate past him toward Cig Smoke, who bit too much to the north as Comodo slid it right underneath him for RIP TW to take the lead. 2 – 3 on the scoreboard.
At 6:00 in the match, RAINBOW SEEKER killed Zeeeeeeee three times off the puck for no reason at all, and as a result received a 2 minute penalty, getting sent to jail for being a naughty boy. It was after this event transpired that Kangal was tested against multiple attacking plays from the PieRats players, especially having to put up a goaltending show with no defender to help him, until eventually at 5:44, Sword was able to beat him south of the net.

Oh why RAINBOW SEEKER, why?
Then again at 4:13 (with RAINBOW SEEKER now out of jail on probation), PieRats scored again to seal the deal and win the game. A nice assist from DiNk! who found Zeeeeeeee in the middle, before Zeeeeeeee shot it south of Kangal, well beyond his reach. Funny aside, DiNk! had actually flown south of the net as that shot happened and quickly had to brake and fly backwards to avoid saving the shot.
Funny as hell dude.
Finally, with only 2 minutes left in the last period, Sword scored again thanks to a great assist from DiNk! and Oli.
PieRats won with a final score of 5-3.
